There has been raging debate over the intervening 25 years whether or not Frank Herbert intended to complete the saga with a 7th book, or leave it open-ended and finished with Chapterhouse:Dune. Chapterhouse: Dune ends on a cliffhanger with unanswered questions about the escaped ship, the merging of the Honored Matres and Bene Gesserit, the role of Scytale, the development of Idaho and Miles Teg, what chased the Honored Matres, the role of the Jews, and the identity of the god-like characters in the book's final chapter. I feel like Chapterhouse Dune is the best ending to the series, many say that it's a cliffhanger if they ever saw one, but I don't feel that it's the case, let me explain why.
